Despacito from Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi Luis Fonsi, who is a Puerto Rican singer Daddy Yankee became the song most streamed within less than six weeks. The song was a mix of pop and reggaeton that attracted attention to Latin music but also reggaeton. In Billboard's Top 100 in 2015 had two tracks that were mostly in the Spanish language, while the year 2016 featured four. In the midst of Despacito's fame in 2017 there were 19 predominantly Spanish songs that were included in the top 100. And in 2020 there were 41. In the wake of Justin Bieber released his bilingual remix of Despacito in the year 2017, the most well-known artists began to join forces with reggaeton performers. Drake and Bad Bunny were part of a team on MIA (2018) as did Madonna and Maluma. Madonna collaborated with Maluma for Medellin 2019, which was released in 2019. In 2020, several Reggaeton artists were complaining about the direction of the genre towards the mainstream. But a newer generation such as Rauw Alejandro was determined to keep the trend going. It was often associated with electronic dance and other types.
